Found on the Walmart website. What’s sad is some poor schmuck will buy this thinking it’s the shit, whereas in reality it is using components from two decades ago. Pleeease take your $300 (HOW CAN THIS PILE OF CRAP COST THAT MUCH??) elsewhere and get a much better bike for not too much more.

Pffft! Kawasaki! Never in my life! Only Yamaha. Does Walmart sell Yamahas?
Also, Vladislav is spelled differently. :P

Three hundred dollars!? Go to any shop that rents bikes and pick up a used for one season, maintained by bike shop... anything. Seriously.

Who is this Vladislav you speak of... I am valsidalv, 100% guaranteed no relation whatsoever you can bet on it.
I jokingly search for ‘Yamaha’ on the Walmart site and, wouldn’t you know it, they actually sell some accessories. Need a cheap windshield? https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/Unique-BargainsBlue-ABS-Plastic-Motorcycle-Windshield-Windscreen-for-YAMAHA-YZF-R1-1998-1999/PRD5H6Y67OSX4G2

Sigh. Walmart trying to be Amazon and sell everything for everything but only thing they are good for are Walmart creatures
![]() 10/24/2017 at 09:27 |

Also, is Valsidalv an Eastern Australian name or Western Canadian?

A lot of people don’t even know such shops exist. If I spend a day at Walmart shooing away people who go into the bike aisle, am I doing the right thing?

A friend in college bought one similar to this from Walmart. I think it broke within the 1st mile. I don’t think it ever made it to a trail

It ain’t grammar. It’s orthography

And I thought Wally World getting Mongoose branded bikes 20 years ago was sketchy.

I finally proved to a friend that he needed to up his bike game this year. He off-loaded a 2003 Haro MTB and bought a 2010 Trek 1.5 off Craigslist.
We fixed it up, he rode it, loved it, found a CAAD9 on Craigslist, sold the Trek for a profit, rode the CAAD9, liked it, found an 2013 Giant TCR SL, sold the CAAD9 for a profit, bought the TCR SL for effectively $150 after the profits on the other bikes, His initial outlay was $200.
Craigslist is magic.

Don’t even know what that means but I’m going to pretend that I do

valsidalv is vladislav backwards?

My best freind had a Kawasaki BMX when we were teenagers. It was pretty cool.

I had a dual suspension from a big box store and there was actually a sticker on it that said “not for offroad use”.

A bike that is on clearance at an actual bike shop for 300 dollars is so much better than this. Adjusting these are hell in every single way.

Did you fix your mini? What is wrong with it? Why doesn’t it start?
![]() 10/24/2017 at 10:38 |

Tried to start it and camshaft timing belt fell and sheared some bolts. Read my woes here. More updates to come. May need a new engine because of the damage

Crap. I have a 2005 mini cooper S. About to read your woes there... Was the belt old/unchanged in a while?
Maybe I need to replace mine soon?
![]() 10/24/2017 at 10:59 |

We replaced the belt while changing the head gasket but we probably didn’t fit it properly. And it depends on how much miles you have on your car. Normally the chain starts going bad at 70,000 miles
![]() 10/24/2017 at 11:05 |
|
We’re around 50k and moving very slowly. 2 miles a day.
![]() 10/24/2017 at 11:22 |

But on a scale of 1 to 10 this one goes to Kawasaki!
![]() 10/24/2017 at 11:25 |
|
I’d be safe and change it in about 10,000 miles
![]() 10/24/2017 at 11:31 |
|
Yeah. I might do it sooner. Car is 12 years old as it sits.

Yes. Yes. A thousand times, yes.
![]() 10/24/2017 at 17:48 |

Probably around 55,000
![]() 10/24/2017 at 17:51 |

You’ll definitely know when it’s gone bad because all of a sudden, you will hear what the forums call the “death rattle”
![]() 10/25/2017 at 07:24 |
|
So it’s the belt/chain that rattles that I should replace soon or something else?
![]() 10/25/2017 at 14:52 |
|
Replace chain and anything else that would tend to go bad at that time. Brake booster and high pressure fuel pump Aretha only two that I can think of at the moment
